★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful MAHARA sculpture park in Tapu Valley, under the mountain Maumaupaki. Heather has built this amazing property over 20 years, which includes a stunning bamboo forest with a cool bubbling stream running through...... Beautiful place to spend a sunny afternoon, with both large & small sculptures tucked into the forest layers to spy as you follow the path. So much love has gone into building this stunning place.... Xx Smiles n Col ? We'll be back ???

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A magical mystical forest sculpture garden built over decades in the Coromandel.
Just a few kilometres down the Tapu-Coroglen Rd from the Tapu end, look for a grassy drive with a sculpture at the gate.
The owners Heather and her partner, have built some wonderful walks through this large property and filled those walks up with pottery, carving, statues and more. Lovely whimsical art that you can buy for very reasonable prices.
For under $20 you can take the whole family for walks through this fabulous place. Take your lunch and a drink so you can have a rest in the large open grassy courtyard filled with art .
Walks are easy but may not suit the elderly or infirm. However, Nana and Grandad can walk through the lower food garden and the start of the Bamboo garden and sip their glasses of champagne in the lawn while you walk the steeper paths.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Curiosity brought me to this surprising, pleasant bush walk and art exhibition.
An easy, bush clad walking track is dotted with beautifully presented sculptures and other art works. Some - very subtle.
At the end of the bush walk, is the garden - with its stone circle and maze providing a great opportunity for some quiet refection.
I went on a damp, windy mid-winter day - but can easily imagine how nice it would be when the weather is more hospitable.
Overall - an absolutely delightful experience.
