About Maidstone Intermediate School
Maidstone Intermediate is situated in park-like grounds just south of Upper Hutt City overlooked by the Akatarawa, Remutaka and Tararua Ranges. The school is approximately 30 minutes north-east of Wellington, and on the doorstep of many facilities and community centres such as H2O Extreme, Kaitoke Regional Park, Expressions Whirinaki Arts and Entertainment Centre and Staglands Wildlife Reserve.
The Maidstone name comes from the town of Maidstone in Kent (England) where a group of Upper Hutt settlers came from. The school opened in 1970.

β β β β β I was fortunate to be able to attend this school when I lived in Upper Hutt in the late 1970's. Although things have changed worldwide since then, I'm sure many of the charms of this school remain. While there, I loved school more than any time before or since. My family lived in New Zealand for two years, during which time my sister, brother and myself were students at Maidstone Intermediate School. The buildings and grounds were beautiful, and days spent playing on the sports fields and learning many wonderful things in class are cherished memories. I remember finding out the first week that students kept a pair of slippers at school so that walking through the halls (with slippers on while inside for a quieter atmosphere!) Loved this school!

β β β β β After coming here, I want to be Homeschooled. As a student I can give my full opinion and Experience, 1. Ads exaggerate and are rather Misleading. 2, If you want to have fun you need to be social and sporty which is Just Unfair for kids who hate sport (like me) and are antisocial (also like me) so in the ads at least explain the requirements of Activities, and the Classroom activities are always sport. And the most important thing, YOU KILLED MY ENTHUSIASM AND PERSONALITY! At least I have just one more year left in Your Trap..
