★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolute joke company..rips there contractors off by holding back.payments in high interest rate accounts collecting high interest...while the sub contractors struggle too make ends meat..and feed their familys and keep roofs over their heads and food on the table ...absolutely positively a very bad experience..and would warn anyone using their services not too as they are selfish greedy buisness men with only their own profits as motivation to be in the roofing market....home owners and distributors be warned..this company is a nightmare too do business with ...its a big fat zero from me ......0

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great if you want a DIY job at professional prices. I had a re-roof. Pre job service was really good, but the new roof has a few dents and quite a lot of scratches, and that was after a chase up to get the job finished properly. There were even a few screw holes left uncovered after the "fix". The level of workmanship was disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A staff member came out to look at Butynol deterioration on roofs over 4 units. Indicated he does not do membrane work himself but would contact and refer someone who does. Still waiting even after a reminder phone call. Unresponsive company and won't be using even if they did come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a re roof undertaken 15 months ago by a cowboy sub contactor who was incompetent to even put screws in straight or hit the purlins consistently, insufficient over hang on sheets, underlay too short in several places, dents, scratches. Mainlands top 2 guys have been back 3 times & tried their best to fix the numerous issues, but in reality it has to be done right the first time, the hip and ridge junctions have no under flashing, the capping junction has torn apart even after being reinforced as the original rivets sheared off within months, this job is in Reefton the westcoast, a very wet place, I have worked extremely hard to fix up an old house my mother owns, in which I live and maintain, she paid $30000 for roof and gutter, I had estimates of around $15000- $20000 from other companies, I expect much better, but if a more capable contractor was sent I could of possibly been satisfied, perhaps we just got a dud.

My partner and I both come from construction related backgrounds, we both understand and respect the work from good trades people.
Mainland Roofing bested three quotes not on value alone but by actually coming to visit us.
They walked and talked through thier processes to complete our work; instead of quoting us via email off a Google maps image.
(Even when we requested some others to come and see us.)
With our reroof booked in and coming out of lockdown last year Mainland Roofing, they Tracked and updated us on our steel being imported, time processed and delivered over a 4 week wait - an unexpected, highly appreciative surprise.
Especially considering the covid-19 global material supply and demand fiasco's.
Communication was a breeze every step of the way. The team from Mainland working on our property were prompt, efficient, notably organised as a working unit and respectful to both us and our property.
With works completed to a good standard, transparent pricing. A roof which now is compliant, doesn't leak nor creak.
Would happily refer them.
