Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park - Makarapeak.bike
MΔkara Peak is located in 250 hectares of native bush at various stages of regeneration and is an important element of Wellington’s Outer Green Belt.
Since the park was established, volunteers having been working to reintroduce key native species including kahikatea, rimu, tawa, kohekohe, maire and miro (and many others), while setting up and managing a comprehensive network of trap lines to help eradicate introduced pests like rats and stoats to support the reintroduction of native birds.
