About Makerspace New Zealand
The Makerspace NZ story started around 2012 as “The Wellington Makerspace” – founded by two passionate creative entrepreneurs – Lee and Marie-Claire. Visitors to the Makerspace were impressed with the machines and started requesting to buy them for their own use. 8 years on and the Wellington Makerspace is a distant memory, however Makerspace NZ is now a leading supplier of machines for makers and their spaces all over NZ. From movie sets to undersea survey components to school class projects our “machines for creation” are helping Kiwis make NZ amazing!
In February 2019 Makerspace NZ was purchased by Warkworth based Marcus and Alice Lund. Marcus is the Director and “Chief Do-er” – he has an extensive knowledge of all things technical and a passion for seeing kiwis unleash their creative potential through our machines. Alice is the champion behind the scenes taking care of all the admin tasks that are not Marcus’ forte’ – basically keeping the Makerspace NZ wheels in motion! When we are not running Makerspace NZ we are
busy on our life style (life Sentence) block North of Auckland or at the beach with our 4 kids.
