I have been waiting for any sort of assistance and I've been extremely patient. I must admit I'm disgusted at your customer support. I own nearly $20,000 in Makita tools for my crew and I have been waiting for Batteries to arrive from a redemption promo since November which is now 8 Months (3batteries finally turned up three weeks ago and I'm still waiting for about 7.) I sent an email after two months of them not coming and I didn't get a response so I talked to a representative at a trade breakfast morning who apparently "couldn't believe they hadn't come yet." he also insisted in taking my email and said "leave it with me I'll sort this out." This was 3 months ago and I heard nothing and never got any email or call on the details I gave. I contacted again two weeks ago regarding this and am now coming to the conclusion I will definitely be buying all my tools elsewhere for my business. I also asked for a rep to assist me in buying back about $8000 worth of tools when they were stolen at the start of the year but that email was also completely disregarded and I wish I didn't stay loyal now. Contact was made after last resort efforts of posting this review. Still had the cheek to say it was three outstanding when it was 5. Recieved 5 batteries perhaps a free shirt or even battery wouldn't hurt as I'd have removed this review.

Good products but absolutely poor aftersales customer service. Recently made the switch to Makita, but getting any response back is like getting blood from a stone. Purchased a skin which I had trouble registering the warranty for online- tried calling (was asked to send an email instead), sending a website enquiry and then emailing. Almost 2 weeks have gone by and no response back, issue unresolved...way to go Makita NZ.

As others have commented absolutely shocking to deal with. Registered a tool for warranty within the 30 days. Only given 3 years. Multiple emails to them to get sorted and still yet to receive a reply. Purchased tools for free battery promotion and yet to receive - sent multiple emails again without response. Makita make good tools but man their attitude towards customers is just pathetic.

Bought $1600 worth of tools… and waited. Finally contacted Makita directly (ToolShed was no help at all), who promised to talk to ToolShed, sort out my order and call me back. THEN NEVER CALLED ME BACK. Finally called ToolShed who said my items were back-ordered and might be coming in either 2 weeks or 4 months, they couldn’t be sure. Had it with both companies so cancelled order and tried to return the one item that had actually been delivered. They β€˜had’ to charge me a 30% restocking fee and then when I attempted to return another item (unopened in box) after the deadline, they β€˜couldn’t’ take it back. It seems neither company is interested in customer care, so I’m forgoing both for life. I recommend you do the same.
