★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super cute hut, lovingly restored by the Whanganui tramping club (thanks for your all your hard work making this little gem what it is). Awesome setting a shortish walk off of the tūroa ski field road. A popular but so be sure to come prepared to camp or sleep on the floor instead. We had a great night camping by the river just beside the hut.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walked in from the road and back the next day. Amazing volcanic views the whole time. The hut itself is cozy and tidy. Water needs to be boiled but there are sinks and drop toilets. First come first serve and dining/kitchen area inside and on porch for more room.
