We dined with a group booking and immediately upon making the staff aware of our special circumstances they put us at ease and really went the extra mile to make us enjoy our evening. Loads of personality from the team,fantastic food and genuine manaaki from our hosts!

β β β β β My fiancΓ© and I enquired to view the Mantellβs Mt Eden venue with our parents for our wedding next year. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed in the customer service provided, especially as I was with my elderly parents.
Upon arrival (9AM on a weekend), we were questioned by an older gentleman asking what we were doing there and had to wait in the lounge area until the lady was off a phone call. At this point, it really didnβt bother me.
She then took us around the venue and answered our questions, providing an estimated total cost which we consider is a lot of money. Naturally, we stepped aside to discuss what our thoughts were on the venue with our parents and whether our budget could accommodate this. We had a few more questions to ask, but the lady was already speaking to another couple, a white couple. I lingered near them to signal that we had a few more questions to clarify but the older gentleman pretty much walked up to me with an annoyed face asking βWhatβs wrong? What is it? Did you need something?β. I said I had more questions for her and he said he would try his best to answer them instead.
After this, we were left to roam around the venue some more and pretty much were left on our own. The lady attended to the other couple instead without even saying so much as a goodbye or following up via email whether we were interested in booking the venue.
I'd like to think our treatment had nothing to do with our race however my experience left me feeling otherwise.
I am happy to say I have found a better event coordinator who checks in on us and a beautiful venue (which I have not even booked yet). Itβs sad that this was our experience. You would think that if you were paying a large amount to book a venue, the least they could do is say goodbye and follow up.
Since we said our goodbyes to the older gentleman that day, I never heard from Mantellβs again which I find very odd for a wedding venueβ¦

β β β β β A wedding ceremony and reception was held here for a dearest couple. We were there to witness. Plated food, clean environment, delish food, friendly staff and to add it all the owner was around to manage the event to perfection. Highly recommended outdoor wedding area ?
