Hi, I’m Melissa
I love art. I grew up making art, and I've continued to make it ever since.
Over the years, I’ve developed a style that is both unique and expressive. My style has evolved over time as my skills have improved. It has taken a lot of hard work and practice, including some failure to become the artist I am today, and I'm still working at it!
As a professional artist and sculptor, I have one main motivation: to make art from the heart. I paint because it gives me confidence; good or bad criticism has made me more determined to make my work beautiful or moody or connected, to truly reflect who I am as an artist. I love to challenge myself with new mediums and I work hard to keep my pieces raw and authentic. Other times, I like to take chances and experiment with unusual subjects, techniques and mediums. I’m very happy to work through a vision or perspective that is different than mine – I love working with people and I embrace the challenge.
No matter what medium or style, every one of my creations has a piece of my heart within it.
