Ever wondered what lies beyond the truck, the timetable and the two chopsticks? It’s a story of ingenuity and intuition at Mao & Co. Today, we are a well-esteemed dumpling and noodle food business that specialises in Home Delivery, Catering and Food Truck Events. We are based in Wellington, New Zealand. We are a team that prides ourselves on quality food and service; on close customer relations and constantly challenging the identity of our own industry.
Before we opened in October 2016, there was no Mao. Only a well-versed restaurateur and a Shanghai-raised dumpling and noodle chef, making home of Wellington city.
We had no complaints… but one.
We couldn’t help but notice the gap for an imaginative and accessible Asian feed. Since our arrival in December 2015, it has become our mission to fill that gap. Better yet, to fuel the next wave in Wellington’s foodie era.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When you see these guys run over and get a sichuan beef noodle bowl before they sell out and get the mixed dumplings on top! Their mango and coconut pudding is really yummy as well. Make sure you get the kids a twelve pack of dumplings or you can kiss yours goodbye!
