★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not a big scenic place, but beautiful and it is a good place to outdoor activities like swimming and jumping, suitable in summer time. There is a toilet on the site. From the carpark can walk down to the site, anyway it is a little steep, so for elderly people, recommend access from the another path nearby the toilet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is 2 car park areas, 1 has a toilet but is 500m or so walk to waterfall and swimming area. The other car park (in pics) is 30m walk to waterfall and swimming area where you can jump off of the lower part of the waterfall or jump off or use the swing, nice and cold

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When we go down near to the waterfalls then will get the best view and experience of the Maraetotara falls.
From the carpark on Maraetotara Road, you can get to the falls by heading down the wooden stairs and following the Maraetotara Historic Walk for about 10 minutes to the base of the waterfall.
There is a great swimming hole at the base of the waterfall, so take a towel if you feel like a dip. Some people jump from the top of the falls, but it is dangerous and we would not recommend it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are 2 parking spots, choose the one by the toilet (check there is enough poo tickets before logging out) as it is a more user friendly path to the falls. A short 2 minute walk. Nice place for a swim.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning. Great spot for swimming & jumping in. A rope swing there too, if you’re brave enough. Track down to the water requires good balance as one part is along an old concrete water pipe that Is slightly sloped.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful majestic 2-step Falls with volumetric water flow even though in mid summer. The water is clean & clear. Many holiday makers or locals go for a dip & dive. It’s near Te Mata Peak in Hastings & just a short travel on sealed roads. The car parks (there are 2) are small; one on each end of the walkways to the Falls. It’s a popular spot so be aware of the traffic. This is the reason why I rate it a 4-star instead of a 5
