About Ocean Beach Kiwi Surf Life Saving Club
Ocean Beach Surf Lifesaving Club has been been patrolling Ocean Beach since 1965.
Ocean Beach is an easy drive from Napier and Hastings, is becoming Hawke's Bay's most popular beach attracting large crowds of beach goers during the summer months. Being an exposed surf beach it can at times become very dangerous, so a strong Surf Club with a healthy membership is therefore essential on this particular beach.
The overall objective of our club is to be successful and healthy in terms of membership base, quality of competitors, desirable competition results and high quality public service.
We are members of Surf Life Saving New Zealand, who is the leading water safety organisation in New Zealand. As an organisation, we have been providing Surf Lifesaving services to New Zealand communities for nearly 100 years.
Surf lifesaving helps build self confidence, self discipline, integrity, strong character and courage for life, not to mention friendships that last a lifetime.
We train our members to become valuable Life Savers who patrol our beach, teaching techniques from surf swimming through to vital life saving and resuscitation skills. During patrol season, Junior surf (ages 7 - 13) training is conducted at the beach each Sunday morning from 10am.
Once 14 and a qualified lifeguard, Surf Sports competition provides members the opportunity to refine and practice their lifesaving skills in the competition arena at local, state, national and international level. Surf Sports forms a significant component of the Surf Life Saving movement.

β β β β β Attentive crew. Clean beach. Unfortunately the rinsing shower is a 2 man operation. Faucet string can't be pulled by the showeree. LOL.

β β β β β Doesnt seem to be anywhere to get some food or icecream or anything here, odd considering it would be a really nice place yo take the family for a fun day at the beach. with the addition of some beach style stalls this is possibly the nicest beach near hawks bay. (actual sand not black stones like in napier)

β β β β β Cool units, roomy enough and well equiped.
However, fire alarms went off on the middle of the night two times in Γ row and the (paid) wifi is at its best, unreliable
