★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A storage building for what are, apparently, ceremonial replicas of Mātaatua waka (canoes). Not a lot of information at the site or on the internet either. The building is decorated with some excellent carvings and the Waka themselves (there are two) look in excellent condition with intricate figures carved & painted at the prow of each canoe. The stern carvings are similarly impressive as are those along the gunwales.
