β β β β β Popped in for a quick wine tasting and ended up staying for a couple of hours. The staff were fantastic, super accommodating and gave great descriptions and stories about the wine (try the sparkling sauvignon blanc if you can!). Would definitely recommend sitting outside for the views, but there's limited shade so might be hard to get a spot when it's busier.

β β β β β Terrible service, with no willingness to accommodate.
We showed up (albeit without a booking) and stood at the door for over 5 minutes getting no attention from anyone whilst the staff simply stood behind the bar doing nothing.
When they finally addressed us, we were turned away because they were "at full capacity without a booking". Sure, this would have be a plausible reason if they didn't clearly have non-reserved tables waiting for the taking. Furthermore, there was a sign in the near-empty parking lot advertising a 4 person capacity non-reserved table available.

β β β β β A large group of us visited Matakana Estate for a tasting and some platters. The wine and food was delicious and the service was spectacular! Special thanks to the kind man that served us - he was so knowledgeable and made our experience that extra bit special. Highly recommend!

β β β β β Friend and I popped in this afternoon. From the moment we walked in we received fabulous warm service. Nothing a problem and the team went out of their way to give us a fantastic wine tasting experience. Platter was very tasty. Still there on closing and never made to feel we needed to hurry up and
leave. Definitely recommend....we'll be back!

β β β β β I went to Matakana Estate with several friends this weekend (19/03/22). We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We each got a different flight of wine and two of the platters. All of the food and wine was delicious. The service was also terrific. Everyone was very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves.

β β β β β Amazing service and delicious food. We went for an early wine tasting and the service was outstanding. We ordered a vegetarian platter and I have to say it was one of the best Iβve seen, so delicious. Paired well with the wine! Great to see a business embracing the Covid-19 rules well!
Iβd highly recommend this vineyard for all to visit. (19 March 22)

β β β β β Our group of 4 was looking for a wine tasting and lunch outdoors. I was disappointed when I called and found out that Plume was fully booked - but am now thankful as it meant we discovered Matakana Estate.
The woman I spoke to on the phone was friendly and helpful. When we arrived they had set a table outside and put together two umbrellas to give us shelter in case it rained. Really appreciate the effort they put into ensuring we could sit outside.
All four of us did separate tasting paddles and they had no problem with this, and expertly guided each of us through the tasting notes.
We ordered the cheese and vegetarian platters which were impressive. Multiple other tables came over to ask what we had ordered.
We were regularly checked on by the staff and they even offered to top up the platters as we went.
They even had decent non alcoholic options, including Sawmill Bare Beer, which I appreciated as the sober driver.
Seriously phenomenal service, great wines and delicious foods. Thank you very much - weβll be back soon.
