Welcome to Matapu School, a fantastic rural school in the heart of Taranaki. We pride ourselves on working hard to ensure every child receives a top quality, well rounded education. We enjoy tremendous community support and are very lucky to have an amazing Board of Trustees and School Parent Association.
Matapu School has a passionate teaching team who have a wide range of skills and experience, who help every student to feel valued and achieve excellent educational outcomes. We want every student to be the best that they can be and we enjoy working with our school whanau to make sure we succeed. Our aim is to provide authentic learning contexts that connect to our students’ lives, while at the same time prepare them for the future.
Student leadership, voice, and choice are key principles that underpin our curriculum. As our students progress through our school, they learn to take control of their learning and understand how they can contribute to the overall success of our school.
