★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. As well as this they were knowledgeable and helpful. I don't usually bother to write reviews, but couldn't help myself in this case. I will definitely be using Matipo Garage as my car service agents from now on.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great honest mechanics, really know what they're doing. Ive been going there for about 10 years for servicing and have not had a car break down. They bothered to get to know me by name and have always treated me well which is a small thing but means a lot.

I've used Matipo Garage for many years (actually my father used them in the old days under previous management) for all my vehicle servicing and repairs. Today I popped in to get a headlight bulb replaced which Ben did while I waited. Always a pleasure dealing with Matipo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not go here if you have an old surf/prado. Went for a WOF and was failed on play in the steering rack. He told me that it was common and that he fails ~80%! of surfs and prados that come in on this one thing. I took it elsewhere and they said it was totally fine as suspected. They must be absolutely pedantic on the rules or are just out to get work. Proceeded to say how cheap he could get steering racks compared to other places. Was going to cost me $1300 to get it repaired.
Also has very high pricing for my wof/service i recieved.
Disappointed and will not be returning

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been going to Matipo Garage since I moved to Christchurch eight years ago. In that time I've had nothing but excellent, honest service from Ben and the team. I've had everything from basic services to brake rebuilds, gearbox issues and wheel alignments in mine and my kids cars. I trust Ben to keep me and my family safe on the road and tell me what needs doing to make this happen.
So if you want well qualified, friendly people who will work on your car and explain what's needed and why i absolutely recommend going to Matipo Garage, your car will thank you for it!
