Roller sports like Inline Hockey are fun, active and exciting for kids and adults alike. But there are limited options in Lower Hutt, and especially on the Western Hills. That's why we kicking off the Maungaraki Rollers, to provide unstructured roller play and practice on the western hills on Sunday afternoons.
The club was established in 2021 by Maungaraki resident Paul Matthews and his daughter Annah, who plays 10U Roller Hockey for the Capital Penguins. They wanted to help other kids have fun on skates, discover roller sports, plus have somewhere closer to practice... so the Maungaraki Rollers was born!
This is an informal, unincorporated club. This means we come together, book the hall together and rollerblade/skate together, but there are no coaches and participants are responsible for themselves.
If you enjoy skating, play Inline Hockey, or just want to have fun on wheels, come along and roll!
