Pretty happy with these guys so far. I really like the green energy focus. They were proactive in getting us to switch to a lower cost plan, which is a new experience from a power company! The weekly energy reports by email are interesting. We switched from contact and would never go back.

Rip off. We were with Merdian for over a year and our bills were not cheap. I contacted Meridian and asked them to check if we were on the most cost effective plan and their response was 'it looks like you used to use less power but now you use a bit more so it's up to you what plan you'd like to go on'... helpful, not. Have since switched to Electric Kiwi and our power bill has literally HALVED since our last Meridian bill!!

I went on their website to just check out the rates for my new place. Firstly the website asks a lot of questions and what gives you the right to ask for my bank account details when I haven't even signed up yet? I got a call from a customer service rep who asked me the reason why I left the questions unanswered. I said because they're too long and too detailed. He then asked if he could help me out with the quote, I said why not,that's probably good, he then couldn't find my address on his portal. So overall the experience was not good, a waste of time.

Amazing customer service from Andy today! She was so helpful and generous with her time to try help me get to the bottom of why our power bill was so high this month. Gave excellent, practical advice and even popped me on hold to try get a quote for a cheaper plan to help us save money. Thanks Andy! Give this gal a pay rise!!

Think before you switch. I switched to Meridian after nearly 30 years of being with another provider. I signed up after being quoted and agreeing on contracted rates by Meridian that I was happy with. Much time since has been spent on the phone after the app reflected higher rates than what was quoted to me. Each time I called ( and waited, and waited!) I was assured the rates that were quoted on sign up would be the rates my bill would be charged at. I was told it was Meridian's error as they had put in the wrong rates, and was given a credit for compensation with much time being spent on this- again it was an IT issue with the app, and now all rectified. This was not to be... my first bill was so much higher than my previous provider...still showing inflated rates that I did not sign up for! 4 calls and 2 messages later (each time reassured it was rectified) I am now waiting for a manager to call me...but told it would not be for at least 72 hours. Very disappointing Meridian. Hoping we can get this sorted with what I was quoted when I decided to switch - with the rates that I signed up for.

Had been on a plan with Meridian and when it expired I got a 30% increases in my roll over plan. Called Meridian to see if I could get on a better plan and was told that was the best new plan. I expect prices to increase but 30%, what a joke! Then the best they could offer me is $8 a month off if I lock into that expensive plan for 2 years! Its easier to retain a customer than get a new one. See you later Meridian.

Best customer experience when calling Meridian. Meridian have the most friendly, genuinely helpful staff and it's always a positive experience working with the team to get a bill sorted or whatever else. Not to mention a rad NZ company running clean renewable energy. Thank you, team!

With Meridian some 3 years, @ 1st was Ok, then out of the blue a 13.5% increase in supply charges. Decided to remain with this supplier as we were moving houses at some stage. Late '21 saw an approach to Meridian informing of said move, inquired re an incentive to remain as a customer ,informed emphatically too bad, you will not receive new account incentive.[ at new address].Seems loyalty is a remnant of the past with this outfit. Incumbent Electricity supplier has & is superb in all interactions.
