★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have visited Michaels several times and always found their products value for money and really enjoyable particularly their Easter Buns full of fruit of fruit spices and very tasty.
However I feel the need to take issue with their customer service.We were overcharged $5.50 not a great deal of money and an honest mistake I would like to think.This incident occurred on the Thursday prior to Good Friday and the shop was insanely busy so rather than returning to the shop immediately sent a message to the shop with an explanation of purchase explaining we were collecting our prepaid Easter bun order as well as purchasing a potato top pie and extra pk Easter buns.We were charged $20.50 I suspect charged for 2 pies rather than 1we received .A short time I received a reply asking for more info as in exact time and they would check and get back to me.As I hadnt heard from them sent another message on Friday 8 days later Wendy from Michaels apologised that it had slipped her mind which was fair however. She now required a description of person making purchase, exact time of purchase, proof of purchase as in bank transaction, because she said they had experienced people trying to rip them off and scam them.I now question how many others are overcharged and have had the same experience .I sent these requests as best I could.I then received a message saying that All The staff confirmed they could only recall a young woman making a purchase then returning saying they didn’t get what they asked for and they were refunded.I was asked for a better discription of person making purchase so they could track their camera for proof with a footnote to bear with them it wasn’t a 5 minute job.My argument is it’s $5.50 overcharge on my side it’s not the value I feel my honesty and integrity are in question and that of my granddaughter who made the purchase particularly as they have my phone no address and email address on file..I’m beyond upset and angry at the Attitude of correspondence from Wendy at Micheals obviously Customer is always right is not part of their shop policy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To be honest I'm a little disappointed by the negative comments. I've never had a bad experience here. Although I am not a sweet tooth, the savoury items at Michael's are probably some of the best you'll find in Christchurch! I love all the different pie flavours and they are always tasty and fresh!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My chicken and cranberry pie was just out of the oven; I was warned about it being hot. Headed away to my next appointment in the car, eating on the way, to find the pie only just not frozen in the middle! As I didn't have time to go back and this was lunch, I ate it... Didn't get sick and it tasted mostly ok, but still. Cold pie straight out of the oven at a bakery?! ?!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was so disappointed in the treatment from the staff here. Out of respect, I normally order by the outside window, as I know what I want and I cannot wear a mask and have a mask exemption. Today I drove all the way from Papanui to support this lovely bakery, but my husband wanted something nice. There was no other customers in the shop so I popped in to see what they had. The ladies behind the counter nearly had heart failure because I did not have a mask. They did not accept the fact that I have a mask exemption, they said they will service me outside and will tell me what they have. I was so embarrassed and disappointed that I was treated like a leaper. I never bothered following through on the purchase and sadly I wont be coming back, what a shame.
