Moore Wilson’s began life in Wellington as a general wholesale merchant. From the day the doors opened, it’s been a family business, managed day-to-day by the Moore family. You will find the family has a very hands-on approach, and this is reflected in the friendly personality and character of the stores. With four cash and carry stores in the region, expanding to Masterton in 1944, Porirua in 1960 and Lower Hutt in 1978, Moore Wilson’s is a Wellington institution.
Built up around the food service and hospitality industry, Moore Wilson’s is truly where chefs shop. Nowadays offering our restaurant quality ingredients to the public, and expanding over the years to include everything from hospitality to homewares in our Variety department. The range extended further with the launch of the Moore Wilson’s Fresh concept in 1998, with a focus on fresh, top quality ingredients, in a format more accessible to household shoppers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Moore Wilsons is a good place to shop when you're looking for bulk items. We find the chemicals IC cleaners soaps and detergents a particularly good buy compared to the general store. If you're in business this is one of the best places to shop for your wholesale items. The staff are always friendly and rapidly get into action if the shop gets busy. There is a good range of items from Frozen Foods chilled foods right through to cutlery and crockery and knives etc.
