★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So I turned up to my accommodation at moreporks nest and was greeted with a friendly welcome from owner sandy or Shelly sorry forgot her name, I had paid for 2people and I had a extra passager and my 13week old puppy and she sorted this out with out any hisitation, thank you so much and we will definitely be back thank you and happy new year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cosy. Wifi is moderate (works sometimes slow). Showers are outside, nice, hot, big and clean. It s alternative, eg the rooms are actually campervans in her kitchen. The charging room is also a campervan. There are 2 dogs (pugs). Only cash and paypal accepted, 15nzd pp

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pro: Beautiful place nice layout, good place to meet other backpackers and socialise. Good hikes nearby.
Cons: Cold and damp caravans, dirty accommodation and dirty pool. But the main reason for the review is that the owners had a lot of issues and arguments with the guests. It didn't have a welcoming or hospital atmosphere, and we felt kinda in edge there.
We were there after Covid so it was a stressful time for people with a bad disposition anyway but still I'd avoid the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sandy and Warwick are super friendly hosts–easygoing and very helpful. We called looking for a place to stay for one night and ended up staying 6 weeks while working in the area. It’s a small campsite but has many cosy places to chill and do your thing if you need space, as well as a communal kitchen and communal caravan if you want to meet other campers. It feels peaceful and homely and Sandy and Warwick are very quick to help with anything you might need. They are also very generous, always sharing vegetables from their garden :) Hopefully we’ll have time to visit again before leaving New Zealand!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice camping to meet a lot of workers and have a good rest. Sometimes it can seem a bit overcrowded but you easily manage to find a good routine and organize yourself properly for using the kitchen and bathroom.
Sandy is very nice and her dogs are lovely.
It is good that you can use the caravan for a rest or a good chat inside without being in the kitchen.

It’s a small campsite but has many cosy places to chill and do your thing if you need space, as well as a communal kitchen and communal caravan if you want to meet other campers. Huge outside hot bathroom. It feels peaceful and homely and Sandy and Warwick are very quick to help with anything you might need. They are also very generous, always sharing.i just love this place. Close to shops, Tauranga and the mount even to Rotorua. Center of everything. Will be back for one love ❤️??.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sandy is such a beautiful soul and was able to accommodate me last minute on my way from Tauranga. Got a nice spot by the house which was nice and level as well as getting a decent WiFi signal. the outdoor showers are great! at a set temperature so no messing around with any adjustments. I stayed here during the beginning of the rains and that didn't take away from the experience, if you don't mind a bit of rain ?
Didn't use the kitchen or composting toilet but love the quirky feel of the place. would love to see this in the summer!
