★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great food and service but the craft beer. What!!! Weirdest tasting craft beer I’ve ever had. Seriously bizarre, hoping they could stock other brands of craft beer then would definitely be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately we were not impressed on this visit, Several beers were unavailable. The beer I then chose couldn’t be served because the pump line was frozen. Obviously they don’t know how to look after their craft beers. The beer I did order was OK, but nothing special.
There were also items missing from the food menu.
Absolutely no atmosphere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The few reviews led us to expect above average food but Mothership fully exceeded our expectations. I had crispy salmon and an improved ice cream sundae, and finished off a friend's creme brule.
The salmon with salad was tasty and perfectly cooked, though smaller than I desired. Of the rest, the Arancini Ball entree was the best.
Overall, our dinner was a definite 9 out of 10. The food was excellent, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the ambience was comfortable.
For the same price as a good feed at the Whangamomona Hotel we got a proper dining experience here.
