Nana grew up in the Mighty Manawatu and completed her Bachelor of Dental surgery in Dunedin and worked back home as a dentist before the big move to Taranaki. She enjoys connecting with the people of Stratford, as the town reminds her of Feilding, where her family lives.
Nana is passionate about patient centred care and minimal invasive dentistry, she is always here to listen and workout a flexible plan tailored to suit every patient and their needs. Nana always focuses on increasing oral health awareness and teaching patients to look after themselves and their family.
In her spare time Nana likes to look after the animals on her parents' lifestyle block - her border collie Conan, chickens and lambs. She also enjoys playing the guitar, drawing and road trips for skiing and visiting friends. Looking for antiques and vintage collectables is a hobby which started with a Brownie film camera, Nana loves going to markets and shops to eye out these hidden treasures.

β β β β β I get my teeth done here every time I need work done. The team is well experienced, pain is minimal, and the ladyβs are lovely! Iβm a young client whoβs teeth needed a lot of work done to them and Lisa is so intense with making sure every problem in your mouth is resolved, hence why I get my teeth done with her.

β β β β β Was seen the same day i requested an appointment. Saw Maryanne and she explained everything to me regarding the treatment i was having. I was comfortable with it all. She explains the fees etc and all your options. Made another appointment to see her again. Highly recommend thus dentist.

β β β β β Really amazing with children. My daughter actually came out saying "Best dentist ever!" She took the time to let my daughter know what was going to happen and they provided calming music at her request. Well worth the 2.5 jour drive.

β β β β β Fantastic!! From the receptionist to the dental assistants to Dr Costelloe, everyone was positive, informative and super professional. My daughter arrived anxious and crying. The lovely receptionist spoke to her, told her the facts in a way that soon settled my daughter. Dr Costelloe worked quickly and efficiently, with her dental assistants encouraging my daughter. As a parent it is difficult to take a step back and remain quiet, but the team were excellent at calming my child resulting it being a non traumatic experience for both her and myself. Highly recommend.

β β β β β Maryanne Costello does not even deserve a one star rating.
Her treatment of a young person I was supporting was disgusting.
Her chairside manner is cruel.
The practice Manager apologised to me and started that Maryanne had Autism.
A wisdom tooth needed removing, but due to the nasty abrupt way she spoke, the tooth wasn't pulled as I wouldn't allow it.
Be wary of this place.

β β β β β Someone else here in the reviews has stated that they had a bad experience I second that! She should've told me the start that she was autistic but I picked it up on my own and I did not like it at all. She made us very uncomfortable and is not good with people at all. All well to be autistic and working a job, but not when you're dealing with people every day. She tried to tell me what to do with my son and how to treat him while we were there and that just made me angry. She wouldn't even let me speak and kept talking over me. Very jittery and high strung and actually a very uncomfortable person to be around.
But the reception ladies were awesome. Very nice. Other that though, worst dentist experience ever.
