The snapper was beautiful and the chips took me back to my childhood.
This was 1st class.
Loved it, along with the friendly service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hard to beat this place ... fabulous food and fabulous service. Māori names on the menu are great. Lots of nice little extras that make it fun and inviting... like the map on the back wall. Good healthy eating options too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was a shame as there was a 40 to 45 minute wait on walk-up orders and that kept getting extended as they answered phone calls and took orders in front of me without serving. Might be better to just concentrate on phone orders only?

45 minute wait, We where only informed of the wait time after paying!!.
Chips tasted like yesterday's stale reheated chips. Fish was OK at best and burgers probably the best part, still pretty average

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was great but fish was dry, chips were tiny, soggy and tasteless, and portions were miniscule and overpriced. Had looked forward to trying this place as they've been recommended to us as "the best in NZ" but unfortunately not worth the hype, money, or 40 minute wait time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just stopped in for dinner on our way from NP back to Hawera and it was perhaps the worst fish & chips I’ve had in NZ. Soggy wet chips and part of my fish burger was cold.. No thanks ??♀️
