About Us
Welcome to Mt Wellies Childcare in Carbine Road, Mt Wellington. We welcome you into the centre with lovely New Zealand Ferns which lead you through to a natural reception area, separate age appropriate rooms and fantastic outdoor playgrounds.
The centre showcases natural design that ensures every child is engaged in meaningful learning experiences, with NZ ferns, rocks, tunnels, bridges, bike tracks and more. Your child will be supported in each of their developmental stages and allowed to learn at their own pace in this wonderful environment. Your child will be welcomed every day with our initial focus being to ensure they develop a strong sense of belonging. They will be encouraged to explore, to share, to learn to become confident and competent learners, ready for their next step in their lives.
At Mt Wellies we encourage children to become explorers of their own learning within a well-resourced learning environment surrounded by positive relationships. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My two boys (1 and 5) has attended in this center for 7 months. On their last week, I came to pick up my 1 year old to find him completely wet from head to toe, shivering, freezing and he had blue lips. After investigating what happened with the center manager I found out that he was playing in a pond outside unattended, his brother told me he was drinking from it, coughing and chocking. Then, they left him in wet clothes for almost 2 hours inside the baby room. The room was pretty cold when I got there. Thats hugely neglectful!! and absolutely broke my heart. very awful experience. I am filling a formal complain with ministry of education.

Good lighting most important my child can easily adapt the school environment in the future because when they turn 4 .numeracy and literacy will be teaches to help them grow so when they turn 5 they can easily catch up with the education in school.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am glad that my 4 years old daughter enjoys her school and can't wait to go school everyday. I am amazed that she can write all alphabets and numbers. My husband and i are busy and hardly have time teach her, we were surprised that one day she just wrote A to Z and 1 to 12 on paper. I love you all teachers! From my daughter daily activities, crafts and the song she sang, i can tell teachers there very creative, they use lots of fun and interesting ways to help my daughter on learning. I am highly recommend this childcare and guarantee you won't regret to send your kids there. I would say this is the best childcare in the town!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful centre with loads of space for your little ones to explore both inside and out. The teachers are friendly, welcoming and very loving towards to kids which is so nice to watch the interaction. The meals are kept as sugar and salt free as possible and they range in options for babies up to pre-school. My little one has been attending for 10 months now and she loves it. Her development since starting is incredible.

The teachers are awesome, management are great with keeping us informed and the atmosphere there is amazing. Our boy absolutely loves going, I have to force hugs from him most days as he is pushing to get away and play with his friends or his favourite teacher :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An awesome ECE center for kids of all ages. Our journey with the center is coming to an end as our daughter is about to start school. We will miss the staff, the lovely environment, the good choice committee and all the fun filled theme days. I highly recommend recommend Mr wellies to all the kids!!
