★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best camping place in my life so far! But make sure to set up your tent after dark and right before going to sleep, don’t leave your tent unattended - naughty parrots will mess with it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolute amazing during sunset and sunrise. If you camp, remember though that you sleep on rocks... the "camping spots" are behind the hut and there are some beautiful ones next to the ridge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A challenging hike up, but all so worth it for the views and the amazing hut which you are able to book and stay overnight. The first half of the hike is stable and maintained, however the other half gets a bit dangerous and has a lot of loose rocks. Go slow and be careful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Breathtakingly beautiful! Not too hard of a hike, either. It’s definitely not for beginners but not as bad as it’s rated, in my opinion. A good challenging hike with amazing rewards (views) at the end!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First hour and a half, brutal stairs. Next hour and a half, climbing rocks, also brutal. The view at the top though, breath taking. Even going at the end of summer we were able to see some snow and avalanches! Well worth the sweat and sore legs.

My favourite hut/hike in NZ. Once you get to the top the views are just ridiculous.
Rather steep but fairly short in comparison to other hikes. Steps at the start to the tarns will get your heart rate up! Ice axe and crampons necessary in snowy/ice conditions.
Pre book in summer at DOC for the hut, and check in winter for conditions and ticket (make sure to check out too once down).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good hike and a fantastic stay in an absolutely stunning setting. Worth getting up (easy when you haven't slept anyway ;D) at sunrise and heading back 20 mins along the track to the viewpoint.
