★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can say that this is most authentic INDIAN Restaurant outside India. The owner has given very much interest in maintaining the ambience and overall feel of India. The small details like sound of train in the wash basin area and artefacts is just awesome. And more importantly let me say that food was so good that I wish to give it 10 out of 5 rating. Very tasty food. I was informed that owner is Gujarati but not sure. (Please contact me if you are reading this review). I was having all of my meals at this restaurant for the whole 4 days when I was in Christchurch.

We ordered Cocktails, however, they were not worth it.
so, we ordered mocktails with pineapple, coconut cream and mint- it was tasteless- can not taste pineapple in it.
The amount charged vs food quality is not comparable.
I hope you can look into this.
The interior and the atmosphere is quite good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I absolutely loved this place. I've been eyeing this restaurant for the last 2-3 years. Finally got the opportunity to dine in there yesterday. The ambience is fantastic. Immediately takes you back to India. The staff was so friendly. We were served by Sri Lakshmi. She had a very bubbly nature, super sweet and really helpful.
Let's talk about food. We ordered chicken tikka. My goodness, the flavours were exotic. The chutney served along with the tikka was the typical "dhaniya chutney" that one makes in their household. In main course, we opted the "dabbawala". The food legit was served in a dabba. That was a unique experience. I would come back and try their street food. And yes, inside the "lavatories" you would hear the sounds of train passing. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had not planned to go to Mumbaiwala, was just browsing what was around and open when I started feeling hungry.
Very happy with my choice, the restaurant atmosphere was great and not overly busy so I had my choice of table, the staff were polite and attentive, I just has a simple meal, but it was delicious, prices may be slightly higher than average for some dishes, but I would happily eat here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As soon as you walk into this restaurant, you will have a good impression of it. My only question is whether the food here can be compared with its beautiful layout and great atmosphere. The good news is that the food here is also delicious. The naan cakes are delicious, the rice is soft, the food is as good as I requested, and the flavor is full.
