★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hansel and Gretel. Visited the ballet tonight. It was fantastic. I've seen a lot of ballets at the venue, but this was certainty the best for me. A must see.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really awesome 1000-odd seat venue with stalls and circle seating. In the art deco style as so much of post-quake Napier buildings are, but thoroughly up-to-date features, including very effective air-conditioning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Theatre was closed for the couple of days I was in Napier, and I resigned myself to not getting inside.
A lone staff member took pity on the Ozzie trying to see through the dark entrance.
A quick chat, and he gave me a tour of the amazing interior, even turning on the Light system.
It's a truly amazing space, and combination of the Art Deco interior with world class lighting is truly amazing, and a credit to the City of Napier.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a great venue for dance recitals, ballet performances & classical music. The seats in the circle are not made for long legs though! The gorgeous architecture takes away the focus from that though...
