β β β β β Why does it take 3-4 business days to generate a "P" number?

β β β β β 1 month for clearance for items that take 3 days to arrive from international sources is not ok.
Its almost like thats the plan......to have the new zealand domestic sales market held to ransom.

β β β β β Spoke with Nina at Customs twice and NZPost twice.
No on is able to tell me where my parcel is. NZPost points to you and you say it's not with you. HOW DO YOU KNOW?
Yes Nina I'm just going around in circles as you've mentioned. Well done. You've just proved there is an issue with your services.
Based on tracking. Says it's with you for assessment. But then you're saying it's not and it's with NZPost.
You then just told me wait. I've been waiting since 27/3. I'm not concerned with a little delay. Instead, I'm just concerned my item may be lost? Anyone waiting for their items for more than 11 working days would be the same?
It's disappointing and amusing the the same time. Pathetic service really.
You need to get your act together. Also, being the oldest government organisation in history, you should be able to deal with such simple enquiries easily and not fob me off and ask me to 'just wait'. How can I wait when you don't even know where my item is yourself?
A better process must be in place... no sorry I mean "A PROCESS" must be in place. Because you clearly don't have one.
Here's a link to my item tracking in case someone in customs cares and can provide me with some proper and professional service.
I'm looking for an answer to somewhere along the lines: "Yes, we can confirm that we have it and it's still waiting to be assessed."

β β β β β NZ customs is pathetic, people need items processed quickly, 1 week is reasonable, 4+ weeks is not. It's time for Parliament to sort out the mess that is NZ customs, listen to the people and businesses that matter and change the system to suit us!!! not to suit your revenue gathering staff that couldn't care less about the Tax payers turning the wheels of NZ.

β β β β β Horrendously slow getting international packages cleared. Waited over a week for a supposed letter to arrive in the mail saying how much tax I owed, which I didn't receive. Got my customs reference number online through NZPost, only to find that I've been charged over 1/4 of what I paid for the parcel to begin with. I previously have shipped through UPS (which have their own customs clearing), and they had the entire process sorted in two days (customs fees paid, package checked, and then delivered). Surely NZ Customs could at least send an email in less than 8 days.

β β β β β Lost parcel with no help or support from NZCustoms. Had a horrible experience with Dianne King (If she actually provided her real name), no empathy, angry and blunt.
Waiting 1 week for customs clearance is ok, however 5 weeks with no help is absolutely ridiculous. Small businesses suffer IMMENSELY.
