β β β β β Pleasant surprise at the end of a windy trip. Beautiful fresh home made food, friendly, helpful service. Had lunch, walked the loop to the waterfall and retuned to the cafe for the most divine plum tart and homemade lemonade.

β β β β β Kiwi hospitality at its best. Nikau was recommended to me as a quiet place to stay and relax. And I'm so grateful for that. I took the cave tour, (great fun), ate at the cafe (thanks for the tasty veggie options), then stayed at the cabin (perfect nights looking up at star-filled skies)
Thank you again for the peaceful, rejuvenating, glow-worm filled holiday.

β β β β β Nikau Cave is a beautiful spot. The stalagmite/stalactite formations are some of the most interesting and varied I've ever seen, and our guide Philip was funny, knowledgeable, and clearly very passionate about his work. The surrounding bush and farmland is beautiful, and the Cafe serves delicious homemade food, and catered easily to my dietary requirements. Highly recommend!

β β β β β Fantastic location and delicious food. The vegetables are grown in a garden next door, the pork sausages are made with yummy wild pork and the home made lemonade is delicious! Really recommend eating here, and if you have some spare time you can also go caving (they have all the gear available for hire).
Note that they don't take credit card, and there is no phone reception here!

β β β β β Out of the way Cafe but we'll worth the trip. Food is great although they are a bit slow at getting it out to you. No cellphone coverage but the silence is golden. Good ride for motorbikes too. A great stop.

β β β β β Such a great spot. Well worth the drive out there for both the cafe and the cave. Do bring a change of clothes and shoes for the cave as you do get a little wet. Especially your feet!
There is also a very nice loop walk just a couple of minutes drive from the cafe. You'll be treated to a view of a stunning waterfall that you can walk under.

β β β β β The caves were a wonderful experience- the crawling was slightly challenging but so fun, the glow worms were absolutely stunning and the guides are friendly, patient
accommodating and knowledgeable. The tour takes 2hours, but you don't even notice the time as you are completely transported to a whole other world.
Then back at Nikau cafe- picturesque setting with the best pizza ever!! Would totally recommend this experience!
