β β β β β A well used and carefully maintained park, but no car parking close by that is available mid week. Council has not provided any parking that is available during the working week. No good for anyone with walking associated disabilities!

β β β β β Perfect little spot for everyone. Skatepark, basketball courts, fun looking slides for kids, and plenty of grassy areas for all sorts - saw weight lifting clubs, gymnastics clubs, yoga clubs, some rugby and much more.

β β β β β Love my local park after almost 40 years living nearby, seen many changes over the years but it's a great place to exercise, walk your pets, spectate different sports and generally chillax in the wide green spaces

β β β β β What a lovely morning! ?
I absolutely adore wisteria. Every time I drive on SH16/North Western motorway on the Westbound side, I see the most amazing wisteria on the roadside, and decided that today I'm going to find a way to take some photos (which does not involve my stopping on the m/way) ?
Nixon Park has a walkway called Athol Morris Walkway. It leads you through a great little park with a playground for smaller kids, and an obstacle course for bigger children, as well as a basketball court, and skateboard park.
On Bond Street there is not much parking, and it's roadside. If you go to the other side of the park on the cnr of Central Road and Fourth Ave, there is more street parking, as well as the Nixon Park carpark with about 30 spaces, so convenient! There were lots of plants, trees, and other pretty flowers. I almost stole someone's very friendly cat ?
When you cross the sports field it borders the Kingsland cycleway, which runs parallel with the m/way, through St Lukes, Grey Lynn, and all the way to West Auckland (at the Nixon Park carpark on Fourth Ave).
It is here where you will first find the sweet and heady smell, before you see an awesome carpet of purple wisteria!
