★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I believe they ripped us off for many years. We bought a brand new Kubota T1770 lawn tractor from them in 2007, having recently acquired a 3 acre garden property that our ageing Kingcat was struggling with. We enquired about zero-turn mowers but were encouraged to buy the Kubota tractor plus a Rover push mower for tight areas instead (the push mower suffered a failed oil seal when it was about 5 years old). The salesman demonstrated the T1770 at our property, where the soil is volcanic (full of rocks and grows like mad). After forking out over $7000 the standard of service declined rapidly. The Kubota immediately started throwing belts every time it encountered a rock or root. Every time this happened the belt would stretch, and after two or three occurrences the belt would snap. Sometimes the belt would not last long enough to mow the property once. After the third replacement belt, we tried to reject the mower as unfit for purpose. In response, we were accused of misusing the mower and told they would not cover further failures under warranty. Thus started ten years of paying $68 for a replacement belt on a monthly, or sometimes weekly, basis. Whenever we serviced the mower at Norwood, the bill was eye-watering, sometimes reaching four figures. It got to the point in the end where we purchased a bulk lot of 100 belts, which made it slightly less painful. However every time it needed replacing was a half hour fiddling around under the mower. In addition, it constantly struggled with our lush grass, despite having nearly double the horsepower of our previous Kingcat. The final nail in the coffin came last year, when the third set of bearings failed on the deck. Each time we had previously replaced these involved around $700 of parts alone, and a big job. So we sold the mower for $500 on trademe as a fixer-upper and replaced it with a Husqvarna Z242E from Regent Lawn Mowers & Cycles, for $6500 (less than the Kubota 10 years earlier!) Only then did we realise how badly we had been taken for a ride by Norwood over the years. Despite being made to feel like the guilty party every time we went into Norwood with a problem, we have not experienced a single failure with the Husqvarna. The property remains equally as challenging, but this time we were sold a machine that was fit for purpose. One year and 120 hours in, the Husqvarna has just been for a service at Regent, and the bill, while not cheap, was a lot more reasonable than the outrageous amounts we were charged by Norwood over the years. This may seem like an unduly long and harsh review, but it is entirely warranted. I would never recommend Norwood Farm Machinery or Kubota lawn tractors to my worst enemy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I purchased a ride on lawn mower from these guys and their service is shocking. I have never felt so disappointed in a purchase like this and I wish I could turn the clock back as I would have gone elsewhere.
The just simply don't care.
