★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has some decent shoes at good prices. They often have excellent deals and the service is generally friendly and helpful. Just remember, you get what you pay for. Not saying you'll get more or less use out of shoes from Number one, it's just if you buy super cheap don't expect them to last forever. Recommended though, especially for kids options (my two kids are growing out of shoes monthly pretty much) and they out grow before they wear out so there's that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The biggest shoe shop in Whangunui. They have varieties of collections. You can find the formal, informal and sports shows for people of all age. Looks for sale and for good discount to grab some good stuff. Though most of shoes are made in China, they do have good quality shoes.

I wandered around for a while, being totally ignored by the staff...I couldn't find the boots I was looking for...tried to get some assistance, but staff avoided eye contact and just carried on unpacking things, or whatever they were doing. I tried on a couple of pairs of shoes - no assistance was offered, nobody approached me. Finally I gave up and approached a staff member, I showed them a photo of the boots I wanted on my phone, via the website...she pointed towards the end of shop and said, "they're down there". I wandered around for a while longer, then gave up and left. No Sale!!
