★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lack of multicultural and transcultural competence overall- there seems to be no multi-ethnics and they are authoritarian and domineering in their approach with little interpersonal relation skills or sensitivity toward others, esp in situations of trauma - this does not define all police but in wanaka it seems to- a bit behind the times.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ These police are not very educated. They barely have writing skills and they can be very biased. If you provide them any evidence that supports your case, they will leave it out and do it in a way that appears to be vague so you are not sure. They will collect info and then filter it as they select to. They will go on hearsay evidence alone if it supports the pic that they are trying to paint. They will take their own cultures side and they will select who they wish to support blindly based on their personal preference alone. The best thing for the NZ Police is to require at least 3 years of University Criminology Education that appears to not even exist in NZ- this will give better and more educated police. Most the police I have come across cannot even use basic past or present tense verbs correctly in their speaking or writing. Be very careful of bias with these police because this station appears to be entirely one homogenous group, one culture, and one way of thinking. There is corruption in NZ police system and they will defend and be in denial of it for the most part- the other problem. Honestly, the NZ Govt does not want educated police- it would put their court system out of business if the police did a better job!
