Delays
- As a result of aircraft engineering issues, there are delays to some parcels sent by courier between the North and South Islands yesterday in both directions.
Delays to Mail Items:
- Due to precautionary maintenance on some of our electric mail buggies, delays of up to 2 days are expected for mail items across the country. These delays only impact mail delivered through our Paxster fleet – not Courier or Rural items.
- As our posties continue to deliver mail with a reduced fleet and through other means of transport, there is a small backlog forming. This will clear once the Paxsters are back up and running.
Delays to Parcels:
- We are experiencing delays of up to 2 days with parcel deliveries across much of the North Island, excluding Central and East Auckland, Palmerston North and Wellington, and up to 3 days in the Waikato/Hamilton area as a result of ongoing high levels of absenteeism due to illness.
- We are experiencing delays for parcel delivery of up to 2 days across much of the South Island, excluding Nelson, Blenheim, Timaru and Ashburton.
We’re working hard to get all items to their destinations safely but apologise for the inconvenience caused by these delays.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Third time now where I’ve gone to drop off a pre paid post package, just a few minutes before 5pm, and the doors are closed and locked. Double checked the time on my phone, and the radio news hadn’t started. Very frustrating- stick to your posted opening hours please.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ With Western Union under it's belt you it's make this post shop convinent ! And for immigrant students you can get your ird card(tax card) , id card and photo IDs! Do get in early because later in the day it gets busy!

I went in to pick up a package, it wasnt there so I left and returned later near the end of the day. I went back, was about 3rd in line when the women at the counter yells over the counter and other waiting customers to laugh at me and say "oh the courier just left and didnt leave your package" all while smirking at me. To make matters worse when i asked if they'd be open tomorro (a Saturday) she laughs in my face again and says "we're suppose to be but no)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was asked to remove my hat or she wasn't going to serve me, then after running back out to my car to get my wallet she was serving a lady with a cap on and i asked the customer did you get asked to take your hat off? her response was no..The lady behind the counter was a Indian lady she was RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL and has BAD customer service. She differently discriminated me based on my race, i will be laying a complaint higher up!! AVOID this post office by all means.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lady working there today (28/2/18)before closing is probably the rudest person to work in customer service in the entire world. If you want to post anything after 4:30 forget it, she will make you feel super uncomfortable, talk about you to other workers (very loudly) and then snap when you don’t take her hints of rudeness! And tell you straight to your face to hurry up (this being when it was the whopping time of 4:53) if you feel like leaving a store feeling horrible go on down.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Westown PostShop, Tukapa Street, New Plymouth 4310 - Staff member (S----a) refused to take my valid Driving Licence as photo ID saying it was issued too long ago despite it being valid until 2026. Refused to even try to enter the details. Questioned my New Zealand Passport as I was born in Britain (but brought up in New Zealand since 3 years old as a New Zealand citizen.) Refused to serve me and asked a colleague to serve me. Then screamed at me across the counter in front of other customers when I questioned why my NZ Driving Licence could not be used. Then the staff member began smirking and laughing with her colleague and other customers as they walked in as I was obviously very frustrated and upset. The staff member said she could refuse to give me what I had come for despite, by this stage, having shown her three forms of ID which had my photo and address on it. The Manager walked in from outside and asked me what was wrong as I was obviously very upset. When I told him he asked me to leave. He said I was not being helpful. He threatened me with CCTV footage which I asked him to look at as it would have shown him how rude and unprofessional this staff member was. I was told by the manager this PostShop never receive complaints about their staff which is obviously not true as I have checked feedback on google and I can see plenty of negative feedback. What a disgraceful way to treat customers. My disabled mother had gone in the day before to try to collect the item and she had also mentioned how unhelpful the staff had been during her interaction with them. SHOCKING customer service ☹️☹️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced. Rural delivery in Omata district is a joke. Driver stops on the wrong side of the road on blind corners to chat with her mates and is more interested in gossiping than safety. I fully expect to see the van cleaned up by another vehicle any day soon. Mail and parcels are either lost completely or take weeks to travel from the New Plymouth sorting center to our mail box. Invariably parcels cannot be delivered because apparently their is no one home? I work from home full time and have seen the van drive by after putting a (cant deliver no one home) card in the box after there has been no interest or effort in coming to the door. Once we go in to town to collect our parcels that required a signature on delivery the service at the mail center is even worse. Staff are rude and the manager in particular is obnoxious. NZ Post you have some real issues here please address them now. If I had any choice not to use you I would but no couriers deliver rural, they all subcontract the service to NZ Post.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very unfriendly and rude staff. Borrowed a tape once to secure my postage. The lady at the counter kept eyeing on me and told me off saying it was not there for me to use and took the tape away. Also, they charged my parcel more than what it should with wrong measurement. I disagreed and took it to the one in town where I posted it for cheaper price
