Short staff night! Place lovely, beautiful old fashioned rooms, gardens of old. Springs a good place to soak. Bad night at restaurant, shower not so great, generosity with milk, tea and coffee is always appreciated but lacking here.Paid a lot but still pleased I went.

Lovely lunch for our family. Great golf for the golfers and wish we had time to go into the hot pools. Going to book a weekend away there soon.

Fabulous Historic hotel, off the beaten track (near Tirau). Has accommodation and "formal" dining room as well as bar, bistro, games room facilities. Al fresco dining also. Manages beautiful adjacent golf course. Has campground facilities as well. Also, natural hot water pool - not really suitable children. A largely peaceful tranquil place.

My (2)friends and I spent a night at Okororie Historic Hotel on the golfing package to celebrate my birthday. This package was excellent value for money and located in a wonderfully rural setting but with plenty to do, including.. Soaking in the hot springs, playing pool in the pub (or drinking), tennis, golf, walking the grounds, enjoying the historic ambiance of the hotel, our room had a private spa pool, Included in our package was a 3-course meal and a fantastic continental breakfast, with Gluten-Free options. I highly recommend this hotel and will return for a 2+ night stay!

Loved our stay at the Okoroire hot springs hotel. It's close to Tirau love the shops there. When we checked in I had a look around and it looked like an old fashioned hunting lodge very beautiful. The room itself was a bit small but I guess all rooms back then were. Was clean and tidy though. Loved the hot pools the first one was the best as it had a continual water flow and was nice to be by the Waihou river. The food was great we had burgers and chips and the on duty staff manager was a very friendly guy with a good sense of humour. Breakfast came with our room continental the muffins and scones were very nice. Very nice for a quiet break away with your S/O.

Popped in for lunch. Nice country retreat, very good service, lovely seafood basket & a good range of beverages. Bit wet outside, but very cosy inside. Steady stream of diners, so all up a good place.

This camp site used to be a family favorite, but the new owners have ruined it for me. The price has almost doubled, which would have been acceptable if the service and amenities were on par. The signs advertise "all day" hot pools, which turns out to have a limit of times you can enter per day. I used them 1-2 times a day over my 3 day stay but was locked out on my last night. After being locked out I was told that the "all day" pools are limited on how many times you can open the gate (which was not advertised or mentioned at the desk), and that I "got a pretty good deal anyway, so too bad" and "everyone knows how it works so you should plan better". They then suggested I knock on the doors and tents of fellow campers and ask to use their access cards instead. Not only is this rude but it would limit their number of accesses according to the owners rules, so this was a poor excuse. One of the 2 male toilets was completely boarded up and unusable. The hot pool changing rooms look and smell as if they haven't cleaned under the floor boards in a very long time. On one of the nights they came down and asked to borrow our gate key to the "secure" campsite because the owners lost theirs. I was then asked to keep the gate unlocked overnight, but they did not appear to visit any other campers to tell them this. On top of this there are wild roosters that crow from 5am. When I tried to bring up these issues with the owners I was mocked and told "how else would we make money?" and "you'll understand one day when you have a business". Completely disgusting attitudes from the owners who have little respect for their guests.

Tourists take the first entrance. Not the pub door. We could feel the locals rolling their eyes at us. Aside from that, absolutely stunning. The Thermal baths were tranquil and relaxing and raw NZ. A place every single person should visit. Beautiful gold course too. And good food.
