About Omatua riverside accommodation
Welcome to Omatua.
Omatua is managed by Katie Absolom. Katie, previously a school teacher, is passionate about education, the arts, the outdoors, and young children.
Katie and her husband Ben, along with the Absolom family, are proud to be fourth generation sheep and beef farmers on Rissington Station.
They have three children, and are keen to share what Omatua has to offer with other families and groups. They want to keep the history of Omatua alive and look forward to welcoming you to stay.

β β β β β Always a great place to hold events and we have used this venue for three years and our participants love it. This year the weather caused a few problems with power cuts a plenty but that is always a possibility in such a location.

β β β β β George and I got married at Omatua over Waitangi weekend. 55 of our closest friends stayed onsite and we had two of the best days of our lives. The venue and grounds are stunning! A hidden gem that was once a girl guides camp. But this review is mainly to rave about the venue owner Katie. She is an absolute legend and went over and above to ensure the wedding was a success. So generous, fun and on to it. We had amazing comms all the way through not being from the HB, and when we had torrential rain and a power line going down the morning of the wedding day she and all our vendors pulled together to get generators going, and set up everything inside the hall for us. The best plan B ever!!
