★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been coming to this convenience store throughout the year to top up my hop card and everytime it was an easy and smooth process but today, I feel like I need to leave a review for others to be aware of this place and how the staff tried to rip me off.
So I went in as usual, asked for a $40 top up to my hop card and I did realize the staff became a young man instead of the old couple but nevertheless, I pulled out my debit/credit card to pay. The staff told me they don’t accept credit cards and I replied: yes I’m aware of that for hop card top ups, and I can use eftpos on this card as I linked two accounts onto one card. The staff went ok and processed to payment. Here comes the problem: I asked for $40 top up but on the eftpos machine it shows that the amount they’re charging me is $41.20, I asked the staff what’s this extra $1.20 and I cancelled the transaction. Then he tried to look normal and told me the system automatically charging the $1.20. Wow hold on a second, does that mean they’re secretly charging everyone extra hidden fees without people knowing???! What sort of system is that??? And it never happened to me before at this convenience store, only till today with this new staff that I haven’t seen before???
Anyways I just want everyone to double check the amount they charge you on the eftpos machine before entering the pin as they might try to rip you off...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent AT Hop card top up location. I also like the choice of items in this superette. They do their job very well and it’s their code of honour to endure good service to the public in Karangahape Road. I would recommend anyone who wants to top up here if they are to catch bus from Karangahape Road overBridge to out West.
