★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A convenient fishing spot for me as its close to where I stay. Being in a town close to water though I wish it was bigger. As its popular and runs out of space quick. Can only fit 4 max.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely disgusting people in this part of NZ, we used the wharf at high tide and had a good 4 m, but had to wade through verbal and racial abuse from all the locals fishing on the wharf after they failed to move while we docked to pickup guests for the afternoon boat trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Got there just on daybreak. Used a sabiki to catch live bait . By 6.45 I had a kingfish that measured 850 mm. I gifted it to the ever so helpful Joe n partner that manage limestone island reserve. Good Xmas morning all the way around.
