★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An unscheduled stop for the night , but pleasant drive around the water's edge to an overnight parking spot with adjacent toilets , boat ramp ,playground ,and swimming spot up the road . Interesting spot .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So close to town and the provided facilities, bbq and ablutions were in good condition, coupled with the view it is great. You can see all the way to Point Marsden. Definitely recommend this park as child safe for paddling.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good freedom camping spot, very quiet. Beautiful views. Toilets across the street and are clean. Drinking water available. Only space for 4 vehicles though!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great reserve with large grassed area, lovely views, right by the sea which is swimable around high tide but you do need to wear footwear due to rocks/oyster shells. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, fire BBQ, good children's play ground with swings and climbing frames, toilet block with cold water shower, boat ramp, boat trailer parking, and 3-4 freedom camping parking. Couldn't get much better for a reserve, that is only 10 minutes from the center of Whangarei. Wheelchair accessible parking, toilets and flat enough to push across the grass.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great campervan spot. On a good day, you can catch a beautiful sunset. Toilets were a bit dirty, no toilet paper. And the rubbish bins in the reserve were full. Probably too small for a spot like that.
