β β β β β Very peaceful and beautiful basin, highly recommended to have a nice walk around the basin, or walk the dog.
You can also do some water activities if you have the required items

β β β β β Perfect location to enjoy summer days. Open until 9pm. Boat ramp. Water skiing. Ski ramp. Walkway across basin. Good views. Close to Kepa Bush Reserve. A+++

β β β β β Great walk round the basin. Make sure you do the whole loop. We saw cormorant, kingfisher, pukeko and of course TUI! The basin is drain twice a week so different both times you walk round. Worth stopping at the Orakei Village for a coffee too! Just by Meadowbank train station so easy to get to from the city.

β β β β β The site of some building remnants that has a pathway from Orakei Road to Shore Road. It has really nice views since it looks above the basin. The entrance to the carpark is on the Orakei Road side of the reserve.
