Wisdom Teeth Removal was an easy experience with Neil. Post surgery I have had dealings with one of his office administrators over the phone and unfortunately the dealing was very unpleasant. I have been recommending this practice since my procedure but due to the dealings with Nikki this has completely changed my mind. There was no compassion and she would not even let me speak on the phone. I am happy for someone else to contact me regarding my issue to try resolve this negative feedback.

Terrible experience Prompted with a referral, they didn't read the emails my dentist had sent them in regards to what was required for my wisdom tooth removal (May 7th) August 4th, I get a 3d scan, they give me 2 USB sticks and tell me to forward them to my dentist, Being "professionals" I figured that was that, my dentist calls 2 hours before my appointment to say they still haven't sent a professional report on whether the tooth was touching a nerve or not, instead my dentist received 1 sentence "the tooth is not touching the nerve", which was not enough information for the extraction to go forward. this after being nearly unreachable and having my calls declined by your Terrible receptionists. basically paid $215 for 2 USB sticks that my dentist couldn't read nor could I because we don't have the software. this business cares nothing for their customer experience, it is a cash cow for them. DO NOT GO HERE.

I went to Ian to have four wisdom teeth removed. Reading some of the reviews I was almost put off but after two consultations, one with Ian and one with another practice I chose Ian and have no regrets. Consultation - consultation was short but he came across as considerate and competent and provided me with a mouthwash to be taken before and after to prevent infection. Instructions provided before (and after) were very clear. During the surgery - I was given an amnesiac and so don't remember a thing. The dosage was exact for me. I remember going in and coming out but not the surgery itself. I never felt dizzy or sick and for the most part I seemed cognizant. The nurses were very kind and competent. Following Surgery - When I came out of surgery they brought me to a quiet, dimly lit room where I could sit comfortably. They gave me plenty of pain relief, antibiotics, ice packs and gauze to take home with me. They called roughly a week following to check how I was going and when I called them myself they were very kind and helpful. I am very happy with the level of care I received. Thanks Ian and your lovely staff.

Had my impacted wisdom teeth removed by Dr Ian Cathro 2 weeks ago. Was very scared for the procedure but it all went seamlessly. Communication was great throughout and a nurse called a week after the procedure to check whether there were any issues. Thank you to Ian and team!

I had my wisdom teeth out only yesterday, and I cannot recommend this place enough. From start to finish, everybody was so professional, caring and I felt like I had a lot of support. The instructions for my recovery pre and post surgery have been extremely clear and easy to follow, so I can only thank whoever made the sheet. I was very nervous, as it was my first time going under general Anesthetiser, but all my concerns were put to rest very quickly. Dr Ian Cathro is truly such a professional, I feel so grateful that we have people like this fronting our health workforce. Once again, come here for any of your teeth needs, you will not regret it.

Can we give these people a thousand stars?!! Our appointment was last Wednesday, February 23. My daughter had an urgent referral from our dentist due to a decaying wisdom tooth that was causing dangerous health issues that were identified by our gp. I had phoned numerous oral surgeons in our nearest city (and being offered a waiting list of two months) informing them of these medical issues resulting from the wisdom tooth, that we had an urgent referral and that my daughter was in pain and unable to eat or sleep; one receptionist actually said to me, when I said the offered appointment in two months time was not soon enough, "all our clients are urgent, in pain, and can't eat or sleep" ! When I then tried Auckland (three hour drive away) and phoned Oral Surgery Associates, Sarah, with great wisdom and foresight, immediately understood the urgency of the situation and arranged for us to come in the next day! I note the practice is very convenient; directly off the motorway and on the same road there is a BP, Countdown, and McDonalds (for milkshakes post op). My daughter was adamant that she would not have an anaesthetic, only a local. On meeting with Dr Ian Cathro, we found him kind, empathetic, and Funny! Which was unexpected, however it was much appreciated having a laugh after all the stress. Dr Cathro smoothed over all my daughter's concerns about the anaesthetic with ease and understanding. On my return to pick up my daughter after the surgery, I was met by Sandra, who very clearly explained how to manage the various pills, twice. After I confirmed that I understood everything, my drugged daughter asked Sandra two very technical questions about the surgery, on answering them, I realised Sandra must be a) a nurse and attended the surgery or b) knows everything, probably both! Everything went extremely well as after a milkshake and then KFC mashed potatoes, I asked my daughter how she was feeling; "Great!" Fast Forward 3 days; "I can't believe this healed so fast!" I can't recommend this team highly enough; Absolutely Brilliant, and though extremely impressed we are with Dr Cathro, my Huge Thanks to Sarah, whose intelligent response to our problem resolved it quickly; without her ability to know when urgent really means Urgent, we could have been in a very different place today. Huge Thank Yous to the team!!

I had all my wisdom teeth taken out a few months ago by Dr. Ian Cathro. I was sedated (IV), I had very strict instructions to take a pill at a certain time and had to have someone drive me to the hospital. I had a drip connected to me and then the only thing I remember is the first local anesthetic going in and then after that I don't remember anything until waking back up. My surgery went well, said Ian and I had my post op instructions + medicine and then I was sent home. The next few days of recovery I swelled up and I started to get a bit of pain around my surgery area - but taking ibuprufen worked wonders and I also had a ice headband that Oral Surgery gave me. The next few weeks I healed well and I would say that I had a very good recovery. As a nervous person going to the dentist, I was very pleased with how my surgery went overall.
