About Orb Electrics
Orb Electrics is owned and operated by Mark Gibson, a Kiwi-registered Electrician.
The inspiration to set up Orb came about 10 years ago when Mark and his young family returned to Auckland from a long stint in the UK where he embarked on travels to Europe and beyond.
Equipped with a diploma in Audio-Engineering from London (SAE) and having worked extensively as an Audio-Visual technician and freelance sound engineer in the UK, Mark made the decision to move back to New Zealand where he pursued a new career in Electrical Engineering. On arrival in Auckland, Mark gained employment with a leading Home Automation company as a project manager where he was involved with high end residential projects throughout New Zealand.
Before long, the lure of setting up his own company became the next logical step and Orb Electrics was set up offering clients a comprehensive service to optimise their living space and ensure their home is a sanctuary from the bustle of the city.
“The most rewarding part of our job is collaborating with clients, meeting their needs according to budget and creating a safe and comfortable environment to live or work.”
Having studied in the field of lighting design, Mark has worked alongside Clients, Architects and Designers to create fully-customised and energy-efficient solutions in homes and businesses throughout New Zealand.
In his spare time he enjoys mountain-biking, skiing, woodwork and hanging out with his wife and two sons in and around Aotearoa .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very dissapointed with this company. Rung Mark to schedule an appointment to get a ducted exhaust fan put in my bathroom and was told that he would ring me back. Week later no phone call and when I rung back and left messages to be rung back, never heard from him.
