★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really disappointed with our experience. Certainly would not recommend this holiday park for campers - much more suited to motorhomes since the ground is hard and it's artificial grass. Also found it not particularly child friendly i.e. the playground is right by the main entrance to the park (off the main road) so felt the kids could not wander as freely as other holiday parks we've stayed where playground is central and away from the roads (highly recommend Whangateau). People on reception also weren't particularly accommodating and lastly the men's toilet was twice out of hand soap in the two days we stayed - concerning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's dated and in need of a serious touch up. The children's playground smells of ants and has numerous lollipop sticks, chip bags and used plaster s hiding in and around the bark. Swings are rusty and protective rubber mats overgrown with grass. The long term residents stare at you like you are invading their territory. This would be fine except we were paying $165 a night for the privilege. Can not recommend.

Loads of restaurants, shops, supermarket, family parks in walking distance.
Lovely hot, well pressured free showers (hairdryer aswell).
Bathroom facilities spotless.
Large kitchen facilities & a separate lounge/TV room.
Clean, affordable laundry room with washers & dryers.
Onsite dump station & potable water.
Only downside was traffic noise. But still a lovely place.

Friendly check in, though no local or park info given.
Unit was a one bed room self contained. With a covered verandah, and a glimpse of the ocean.
Down sides. Unit backed onto quite a busy/noisy road. And cleaning wasn't up to scratch, the bathroom floor was watermarked and stained and the curtains had quite severe mildew staining.
But location is good for beach walks and the local township.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of my fave spots! My husband and I stayed here with our small maltese dog on a powered site. We had a kitchen in the camper but we were happily surprised qith the facilities provided in the communal kitchen. The bathrooms were always nice and clean when I went in. The staff was very friendly too. I loved the location, right on the beach, could hear the waves! So close to the town centre, we walked into Orewa town centre quite a few times during our stay. Such a dog friendly place, we came across so many other guests with dogs it was awesome!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely campground, friendly staff and clean facilities! Would come to camp again, however, I don't recommend paying extra for a beachfront spot. It was SO WINDY, which is fine, but apparently it's like that a lot of the time. As soon as we were one row back, it was so much warmer and the tents didn't look like they were about to blow away! The beach is lovely, a bit of a trek to the flags, but worth it. I would come back, but pay less for a more desirable spot, further from the wind.
