★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always love it here got toilets and loads of space. There are a few walks, 2 good beaches electric barbecue's are around but not in the camp it self.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great regional park and so close to Auckland for a camping getaway, $15 per adult each night with secure gateways into park and campground. You require gate codes to enter camp area, these are supplied by Auckland Council Park reservation team when your booking and payment has been made. Toilets are well serviced and facilities are quite new as camping park only recently opened in last couple of years. It's a win win for so many reasons. Love it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic facilities! Good flat camp grounds but get in early if you want a spot closer to the water. Lots of drinking taps around the property and space to drive through to your chosen spot. Taken off 1 ? for two very specific reasons - there are no shower facilities and nothing except open open lawns for kids to play. Impressed to see council staff come in every morning to clean the toilet facilities. It is also disabled friendly and you can dump your rubbish and recycling at designated vats right at the campground entrance - unlike other sites where you have to carry the rubbish back in your car. Will definitely visit again, it's also a short walk to the Wenderholm park and beach where they have a boat ramp and kayak / standup paddle board hire facilities... And yes, no pets allowed means it's safe for all especially with the powered (password protected) gates.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We're camping here for our third time. This time with four children, who have an absolutely loved it. Reasonable price and great spacious areas with lots of trees to provide shade and wind protection. Great area to enjoy beaches, kayaking, biking around the park and hiking trails. We enjoyed Vin's Trail which starts on the entry road to the campground and has great views and some beautiful old growth forests.
There are nice flushing toilets but no showers so we bring a shower tent and hot water shower bags to warm water up which works great.
Highly recommend the camping experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved this camping ground. It's got lots of nice flat pockets of area to camp, flush loos and the water right there for swimming, kayaking fishing etc, and a short walk to the surf beach, magic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place to camp, very sheltered and scenic, swimming in the estuary by the big pohutakawa at high tide is great! Make sure to check out the hill to the south of the camp (on your left as you dive in to the first entry point), which has 1m long overgrown grass that's like a natural trampoline to climb over.
