I just pulled in for a rest break, not so much for the nature walks etc. But, despite the parking bay and car club looking a bit run down, it is a good rest spot. Few trees scattered along the drive in, and a couple rubbish bins. Large grass area, see alot of people bringing their dogs here for exercise and play. I do notice there is a walking track up and around the mountain, the main attraction here.

If you like large amounts of ancient kumera Pitts this is the mountain for you! Some areas blocked off. Very grassy and has an Unkept untouched vibe about it which is kinda nice.

Peaceful & quiet. Awesome place to park up & walk through a beautiful park. Or park up for a quiet lunch in your car or even have a power nap. Or even come to watch sports like rugby during winter.

Interesting spot this.Steep and rough, almost unkempt.Views to the city, Manukau Harbour, overlooks sports grounds on eastern side. Lots of fallen trees, long grass. Theres a water tower, unmarked tracks, parking on the western side, and another sports field. A sign saying a track was unauthorised was lying on the ground, a sensitive area has been disturbed. It is hard to ascertain where exactly is appropriate to walk however. Lots of nice, old , shady trees. Perhaps a slight oasis from suburbia. There are many I'm assuming old food pits to see too. Definitely a sense of history here.

Great little park with a massive field to run run the kids tired and kick the ball. Shaded areas to set up a picnic and toilets also available. (Usually clean) This place brings back memories.

Great spot if you want some peace and quite but dont want to travel into the country. Come here on a weekend and you'll usually find 1 or 2 people. It's a good easy hike to the top with great views of the surrounding area. There isn't any paved pathways so bear that in mind, I would recommend wearing shoes or similar. Keep a watch of the kids if traveling with a family as the path to the top is narrow in places.
