★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my second Christmas Holidays' experience at Moana Paddle Boards at Nelson. Perfect conditions on 29-Dec-20 for a beginner - calm, very little swell. Great fun. The team here are very helpful and great to deal with. Certainly will be back again...
30-Dec-21 Back again - another Holiday Break in Nelson & some more fun on the water. The local team remain great and helpful with advice. (Only one splash down on this occasion..)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Toby was friendly and welcoming and made us feel relaxed about trying out paddle boarding for the first time. He gave a great guide on how to ride the board and he carried the board to the waters edge.
It was a fun experience and I would recommend anyone keen to give paddle boarding a go to hire a board from Paddle Nelson.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was easy to make a reservation online, and they emailed me my receipt and even sent a reminder. I had a one or two hour rental option. Claiming my kayak was simple - I just showed up (everything was prepaid) they gave me my paddle and life jacket, and the kayak was waiting for me by the water. They are located on the loop at the end of the road right by the beach. It happened to be a windy day, and I was given good advice on where to head. It's fun to just take a break and let the waves rock you while watching the kite surfers. The water is very warm at Tahunanui even when the evenings get cold in the summer. The kayaks have elastic compartments that hold your belongings well. Cover your items if they're not waterproof, they will get splashed! I recommend this activity if you're visiting the Nelson area.

We (a family group of 6) had a session with Stand-Up Paddle boards (our first time on these), and then a couple of days later came back to make use of their kayaks. Team were very professional, helpful and friendly. Kit was all of a good standard. We had great conditions and a wonderful time. Highly recommended!
