★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best white sand east coast beaches in North Island and close to Auckland. It's a #mustdo if you are in or around Auckland. The surf is amazing and you can walk in quite a bit into the water to experience it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Half the beach was closed by signs claiming that it was private property. Two guys came near us to chase us away, even when we were no where near the sign. One verbally abused our kids and elderly, and even went as far as to snatch our food out of our hands, spilling it all onto the sand. The other said that they owned the entire beach, and the public were only allowed on because they gave permission. We finally called the police who said this happened frequently and to keep away from the other side of the beach. WARNING DO NOT GO TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BEACH; IT IS OUT OF GOVERNMENT CONTROL!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful quite white sand beach without much people around. The road to get there is rough but worth it to go there. The sea water connects with a small stream where kids can safely enjoy without worrying about deep but still can have some small waves to have fun. We want to visit again with camp tent in coming days to stay for long time.
