★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They have a nice if your, not a vegetarian healthier pie alternative. In the form of a baked pork bun. (Why healthier) a bun has no fat in the bread. Nice taste too. If enough people ask they may be willing to make other flavours, for example; veggie, or chicken.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My absolutely favourite bakery in Onehunga. Locals are pretty spoilt for choice in Onehunga as there are food options everywhere. There are many bakery’s but none that quite compare to this award winning bakery. Penny Lanes does all the kiwi classics and more. My favourites are the classic chicken roll, butter chicken pie, and most amazing bakery fries I’ve ever had! I’m drooling just thinking about them ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bacon/Egg pie why can't we have it all scrambled instead of a whole dam egg in it, total LET DOWN!!The mince/cheese pie wasn't the greatest. Their both award winning pies. Both pies were almost cold such a let down!! Cream donut 5/5

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was in th area and wanted to try out their pies as they'd gotten an award in the 2021 Bakels NZ Pie Awards.
I had a Pork & Cheese (weird combo BTW) as well as an award winning Bacon & Egg.
The Pork & Cheese was what I expected... the Bacon & Egg wasn't.
In NZ, pies are uniformly good so it's pretty difficult to produce something that stands out. Their B&E definitely stands out.
To begin, the bacon was a single large piece. Unusual but not unpleasantly so. But the standout was the egg. Clearly cracked directly into the pie casing, it featured a "not completely set" yolk.
I'm a big fan of "gooey" yolks. This one was closer to set than my ideal medium gooey but still a revelation and something that I've never seen in a pie prevously.
A well deserved award for this pie.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best bakery in Onehunga for pies in my opinion. The insides are full of flavour and the gravy isn't too runny, so it doesn't pour out everywhere when you take a few bites, pastry is solidly built and yum. Strongly recommend the steak pie variants. Their cream-filled donuts are a big hit too. Don't get the toast sandwiches after 10am, they get too dry and crispy sitting out for too long.
