★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty average tbh. Nothing stands out as excellent . Big downside is no Aircon in rooms in the summer heat..there are noisy fans once can use if you are prepared to try and sleep with the racket. Limited parking spots available unf.

Food not only looks good but tastes divine as well. Great service and beautiful views across to the harbour.
I would throughly recommend a visit for a meal if your in Picton.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the room at the end overlooking the water on the top floor - amazing view, we loved it. You had the whole width of the floor with your own balcony. Bed was superking, great size for a studio, spa bath in the bathroom.
We were looking for a nice restaurant to eat at in Picton for our last night in the South Island but didnt see anything that stuck out to us and found out there was one in the motel called Whalers Restaurant ...amazing food, chef is so good. My husband said the surf n turf is the best he's ever had! We will be back to stay and eat here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed one night. Room had an excellent view. I was suprised there was no cooking facility or microwave which meant you either got take aways or booked a table in their restaurant. Again the view was beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location 2 mins walk to the main area of restaurants and tour operators. Room was clean and tidy and bathroom was a good size. The bathroom fan seemed like it hadn't been used for a while and was quite loud when it was turned on to start with. Our room was on the ground floor this was quite loud with people walking past, and a window looking out from the kitchen area it doesn't feel very private. However we were upgraded to a room with a kitchenette which was a nice surprise.
